“It’s really hard to express the shock and horror of hearing the words ‘cancer’ associated with your child. I remember I could see mouths moving but I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I felt paralysed. Mia’s diagnosis meant she had to stay in hospital for all of her care with very little time to go home. Home was a min 1 hour drive from the hospital.”rnrn rnrn“We ended up making friends, all on a similar journey and being supportive to each other. Anj and her husband Simon spent over eight months staying in a Ronald McDonald House next to Birmingham Children’s Hospital whilst baby Mia underwent treatment for leukaemia.
