“It’s really hard to express the shock and horror of hearing the words ‘cancer’ associated with your child. I remember I could see mouths moving but I couldn’t hear what they were saying. I felt paralysed. Mia’s diagnosis meant she had to stay in hospital for all of her care with very little time to go home.
