Leave Your Legacy

A gift in your will can support families with children in hospital for many years to come.

A Gift From Your Family, To Theirs

There’s no better was to secure your legacy than creating a will that reflects your love for family- both your own, and families for generations to come – who will benefit from your support. It’s the best way to ensure your wishes are carried out when you pass away.

If you would like to leave money to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK as part of your legacy, there are many different ways you can easily include this in your will. Making a will gives us the opportunity to secure the futures of those we care for and pass on valuable and sentimental items, as well as ensuring we can continue to support a charity we feel passionately about.

What could a gift in your will do?

No matter the size, all donations help families stay close to their children in hospital. Below are just some of the ways your gift can help:

What could a gift in your will do?

Building new Houses

There are still many children and neonatal hospitals that do not have long term accommodation services for family. We are always striving to expand our services, and your legacy could be funding new Ronald McDonald House Charities UK projects.

Maintaining and renovating our current Houses

You can keep our Houses feeling like home. From keeping them warm, to fresh clean bedrooms, every part of our Houses work together to provide a ‘home-away-from-home’. Your legacy can be to ensure our Houses remain warm, clean, and open 24/7, 365 days a year for families.

Providing extra services for families

We’re not just a bed for the night, and we love doing all we can to make families feel welcome whilst bringing a little joy to their day. Your legacy can help our Houses in offering special events, work spaces, lounge areas, Wi-Fi, support signposting, a friendly ear and 24-hour support

What to think about when making a will:

1 – Decide who will be named as your executors

2 – Calculate the value of your assets, including property, investments, and any debts

3 – Choose the family, friends and charities you would like to remember

4 – Make sure you have a safe place to keep it- if you hire a solicitor to draw up your will, they can look after it for you, or if you decide to keep a copy, place it somewhere safe and make sure someone close to you knows where it is

Ways to write a will:

Use a solicitor:
Find a trusted solicitor in your local area through www.solicitors.lawsociety.org.uk for England and Wales, and www.lawscot.org.uk/find-a-solicitor for Scotland

Use a will writer:
Check the institute of professional will writers at www.ipw.org.uk to ensure your chosen will writer belongs to a professional body, and follows the set code of conduct

Use a bank:
Many high-street banks now offer will writing services, contact your local branch for more information
