The biggest gift that McDonald’s and their Franchisees have ever given us is the opportunity to place our collection boxes in their restaurants across the UK

In 2021, these boxes provided Ronald McDonald House Charities UK with over £1.7 million donated by generous McDonald’s customers. We’re so grateful to each and every customer who gave their spare change; these donations are used exclusively by Ronald McDonald House Charities UK, primarily to build new Houses.

McDonald’s introduced the ability to donate to our Charity through their self-order Kiosks in 2019. This raised over £2 million in 2021.

In 2021, McDonald’s introduced the capability to donate to the Charity via the MyMcDonald’s App which generated donations of just under £18,000.

In 2021 McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd and its Franchisees donated just over £2 million from their sales to Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. In addition, McDonald’s offers important organisational support to the Charity, such as providing office space, use of their resources, office support functions and additional benefits for our employees. office space, general and administrative support, payroll, HR support, IT and computer systems, all over the UK.

The McDonald’s family supports many of our events and restaurant employees, Franchisees, office staff and suppliers regularly take part in fundraising activities to raise money for the Charity. We’re constantly amazed by their energy and creativity and we are hugely thankful for their continued support and enthusiasm.

McDonald’s support is critical in helping us to run existing Ronald McDonald Houses and build new ones, meaning even more families can stay close to their children. Teams from McDonald’s often volunteer at our Houses, offering enthusiastic support to our House teams.
