THE LONDON MARATHON – CHARITY PLACE RUNNERS
We are pleased to announce applications for the London Marathon 2021 charity places are now open! You can apply for one of our guaranteed charity places by clicking the “Apply” button below. Places are limited, so tell us what your fundraising plans are and why you have chosen Ronald McDonald House Charities UK. We will then offer places based on those responses.
We will review your application in October 2020 and will let you know whether we can offer you a place after the public ballot has been announced.
THE LONDON MARATHON – OWN PLACE RUNNERS
Please apply in the public ballot to increase your chances of getting a place at the London Marathon 2021. The public ballot opens on 26th of April 2020 at https://www.virginmoneylondonmarathon.com/en-gb/how-to-enter/ballot-entry/ and results are usually announced in October 2020. We will still keep your application on file if you apply for a public ballot place but please let us know if you have got a public ballot place so that we can offer the spare place to someone else!

About Ronald McDonald House Charities UK
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation and support for families with seriously ill children in hospital. The 11 Houses across the UK are right by the hospital, so families can stay together when they most need it.
When a family finds their child in hospital, it is incredibly tough, not to mention very emotional and stressful. Sometimes families travel over 100 miles a day just to see their child, and if they stay locally, they have to factor in work, school and the cost of hotels. In some cases, they sleep on the ward floor and are exhausted physically and emotionally.
If they are accommodated at a Ronald McDonald House, a lot of this stress is taken away because it’s free, for as long as it’s needed and it offers families a place to rest, relax, eat and sleep.
Families stay in bedrooms which can house up to four people (and up to six in some cases). There are family-friendly facilities such as communal kitchen and eating areas, lounges to relax and recharge and play areas for families and their children. Each room has a telephone line linking them to their child’s ward so that they can keep up to date and also visit them whenever they want.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK has been helping families for the last 30 years – that’s over 50,000 families. We know we can help families, and we hope that you will support our work and fundraise for us so that we can give families the best possible opportunity to have as normal life as possible, so they can focus on their child and simply being a family.
